Kris, Just a quick note to let you know that your classes are inspiring! I have taken the kick butt express and EST and I'm so excited to try some new ones. I went to anytime fitness for a year and never had the motivation and excitement that your classes give me!

I think the Extreme Fitness club that came to Kasson was the best thing that ever happened to me. They have a hard working, positive and a fun staff that make you feel good when you attend their classes. They always make you feel welcome. I enrolled in the 8 Weeks to a New Fit You program which was very hard for me to do at first but, with Kris's "YOU CAN DO IT" attitude I completed the program losing 17 lbs. and 19 3/4 inches which I though I could never do. Kris taught me how to pick the right choices of food and combine that with exercise. I also learned how to cook healthy for my family and that is priceless. After my 8 week program was over I still go to classes every week because Kris and her team make it fun to exercise. I have never left one of there classes feeling like I wished I had stayed home because of the personal touch she gives everyone. When you go to a gym to work out you do not get that personal touch. I had a high cholesterol problem which my triglycerides were way over 300 which is very bad and in doing her 8 week program it dropped to 123!!!! So, that alone was huge to me plus all of the energy I have now that I have lost weight. I have recommended her to a lot of my friends and they love it also!! The 8 Weeks to a New Fit You program was just what I needed. It combines both a meal and exercise plan along with support and accountability. I liked the structured approach because I knew what I had to do to lose the weight and when I followed the plan the pounds came off. Exercising at XF is fun so it doesn't feel like a chore! Kris, Three years ago I fell and ended up with a fully torn ACL, an injury that I was convinced would end my running program and not allow me to be as active as I had been over the previous years. I had also convinced myself that I was getting older and would never be able to achieve the same level of fitness I once had before the injury. I managed to gain thirty pounds in three years because of this thought process. I started working out on my own and tried to eat less and had even dropped some weight, but I lacked the motivation to work as hard as I needed to get the results I wanted. Thankfully, after hearing about your 8 week program from my sister, and seeing the results of her weight loss, I thought I would try your program. Right from the beginning, I knew I had found exactly what I needed to get back on track and once again feel good about myself. Within a few sessions of working with you and going to classes at Xtreme Fitness, my body began to take on tone and strength, and the weight started to come off. A big part of why I am writing this letter is because of how much I believe in you and your ability to help others realize a better state of physical well-being. Right from the start you challenged me to work hard and didn't let me give up when I thought the workout was beyond what I was capable of. You taught me to listen to my body and always encouraged me so that I was able to gain confidence in my body and in my own strength! What Kris and Xtreme Fitness has done for me is beyond any words I can write down. My life before I started the 8 week program was going in the wrong direction. I was making some very unhealthy choices, that was actually costing my life. Just wish that I met her earlier in my life. I do want to tell you if you haven’t heard, that we had an AWESOME workout Fri morning! EST Everyone was commenting on the way out, how we were shaky and pooped. Kind of seemed like the first 2 workouts, so we knew you hit some new muscles!!! Saw some gals at football again today, and everyone was still commenting! We are SOAR, but love the pain! • J

Hey there lady! Just thought I"e;d drop you a line to let you know that my scale this morning said"___" Now, I know each scale is different, but WOOHOO! Hopefully my newfound consistency and you"e;re encouragement and workouts (PT and early morning groups) will help me get over this point. This past year has been one of the hardest times in my life. Our family was going through a very major crisis. There were times I could hardly get my self up and moving, finding it hard to even breathe. My sister in law told me about a new exercise dance called Zumba, and told me she thought I would really enjoy it. So a friend and I decided to give it a try. What a blast! This class was the most fun I have ever had while exercising. Any one can do it. What I found at Extreme Fitness was far more than an exercise studio. There were people of all ages and sizes, women and men. The classes are so fun I didn't feel like it was exercise but more of a social gathering. We sweat, laugh, dance, and have the best time together. The 8 week program helped me for the first time in my life, (after multiple attempts) loose some needed fat, and get back my energy, and most of all taught me a new way to live. The Kick Butt class helped me to get out some of my frustration with all that was going on in my life, and in the process I started to build muscle, and tone my body. My stress level was reduced, I started to smile and laugh again. Kris Thomas greets ever one with a smile and a hug. She truly cares about each and ever person who walks through the door. Last fall we started a Bible study. Twice a month we would finish our exercise class and a bunch of us would gather on the dance floor and do a bible lesson together. My soul started to heal. I ventured out and tried Yoga and Pilates and have increased my flexibility, energy, and find I am much more relaxed. I love the strength classes; I was diagnosed with Osteopenia (the start of Osteoporosis) a little over a year ago. This summer I had a bone scan and I have increased my bone density. Extreme Fitness has touched ever aspect of my life in the most positive way. You do not have to be in shape, or fit to start coming, this is a come as you are place. I have been renewed, and feel better about my self and about life. I am grateful for Kris Thomas in her vision, the fantastic instructors, and all the amazing friends I have made over the past year. • Mary

I started attending X-Treme Fitness Classes in October of 2009. Within 2 months I was feeling stronger and well on my way to new fitness levels, however, I plateaued in my weight loss after losing 5 lbs. I DID continue to lose inches with all the toning and strengthening classes I was attending but couldn't seem to lose the extra weight. After joining Kris's 8 week program I was able to bust off another 9.5 lbs and lose 11.5 more inches! She gave me the tools I needed to attain my goals and motivated me to continue in my journey. I came to Xtremies with a problem of back aches/spasms and pains. In fact I was having difficulty in doing normal everyday activities such as tying my shoes. Slow but sure I have been able to gain some movement, strength and remove a few pounds. Kris has given me alot of encouragement and has helped me individualize my program. In January of 2010 my 10 year old son DJ came to me and said he wanted to lose 20 lbs by the time state qualifiers for wresting started in March, he didn’t want to wrestle in the heavyweight bracket. At first I thought his request was totally unrealistic but he told me that he was determined he was going to make it happen. I wasn’t sure where to turn because I knew he needed to do it in a healthy and safe manner. I had gotten to know Kris through youth wrestling so we approached her with his goal and she welcomed us with open arms. He was the first child to do the 8 week program with her here at Xtreme and I can’t begin to explain his journey to you. He would meet with her at 6:00 am for his training sessions (and let me tell you he is not a morning person) that is until he started his Xtreme lifestyle, he was up ready and out the door we went. After his workouts he always came done the stairs with a BIG smile and covered in sweat. One of his biggest accomplishments was when he discovered that he could run on the treadmill, he is not a runner, or not until he started with Kris. He did yoga, Zumba, he was a little clumsy for that, but he gave it his all and had fun doing it.
All the people at Xtreme treated him so well, staff and participants, that some times it was hard to get him to come homeJ.
The program that Kris put together for him was awesome and easy follow; she gave him recipes, an exercise regimen to follow and an unbelievable amount of support!! Kris is amazing, you can tell she loves what she is doing and it shows and did I mention that DJ loves her HUGS!!!!! She kept him motivated even when the scale wasn't moving as quickly as he had hoped but she encouraged him to keep with it and not give up, and with total dedication on both their parts HE MADE IT!!!!!!
Lucky for him Kris she started an Xtreme athlete program for the summer so their journey together continues.
We can't thank Kris enough for everything that she has done for him, he has helped him find confidence to try things he never thought he could do, like did I mention he didn't like to run, well he signed up to run the 5K at Festival in the Park, talk about life changing!!!!

My journey at Xtreme began in January, 2010. It was a blessing that for some reason I made the call to Kris and met her the next afternoon. I wasn't convinced that I would join Xtreme but once I spoke to Kris there was not a doubt in my mind that this is what I needed in my life. I had been an active person in high school and after high school. Once I entered the working world, became a wife and a mother I had enough to do in a day that I left time to exercise out of my schedule. I have had painful joints for several years and bouts with back/nerve pain that traveled down my leg. I lost an entire year (2009) to that leg pain due to disc issues in my lumbar spine. When I finally got the leg & back pain under control, by having 3 epidural injections into my lower back interspaces, I ended up ill with what turned out to be gallbladder issues. After surgery and recovery I found myself the heaviest I had ever been, tired with no energy, and not being the person I wanted to be for myself and family.
I had heard about different people in the K-M area working out at Xtreme and getting results. like a lot of people I had lost weight before and I know what to do but for some reason those pounds kept finding their way back. I recall it being a Thursday afternoon in January, 2010 I was nervous about making the call and thought I have so much to lose and so much work ahead of me .. I felt discouraged. When Kris answered I heard a very energetic and perky voice. I felt hope and we met the next day and I have never looked back. I told Kris I had "special needs" - having arthritic joints and a really bad spine with potential for re-injury she told me we can do this and was willing to come up with alternate exercise when needed. I decided to enroll in the "8 weeks to a New Fit You" and gave it my all. I lost 18.5 Ibs. and 18 inches in the 8 week program. I continued to exercise at Xtreme and began bicycling. By the time summer came I had lost another 18.5 Ibs. I felt GREAT!! In June of 2010, I participated in a relay triathlon. I never thought in my wildest dreams that this would be possible.
Once I hung up my bike in the late Fall I missed going to Xtreme but just couldn't get organized enough & found excuses not to exercise. I would see Kris around and she would encourage me to come take some classes. I gained a few of those lost pounds back but overall I really kept eating right by making healthy food choices along with reducing my portions. Then the Biggest loser Challenge occurred in early 2011. I joined a co-worker of mine and we formed our team, Fierce-n-Fit. After the completion of the challenge I had lost 15 !bs. for a grand total of 42 Ibs. since last January. I have not suffered any back pain or re-injury. I have become stronger and much more active.
I can't say enough good things about Kris and the staff at Xtreme Fit Club. I enjoy the unlimited pass that lets me try all the different class options and I can attend classes when it works with my schedule. I never thought yoga was my thing but I've really enjoyed it. We all have to make a choice about our health & wellness, Kris and the Xtreme team have made such a different in my life. As she says, "Never, Never, Ever, Give up" you can do this!

What do I like about Xtreme Fitness for Seniors?

It's many things - the strengthening classes that are working all my muscles, the pilates class that is improving my inner core and balance, the yoga class that stretches and then relaxes me or the energetic and fun zoomba dance class to the music of See you later, alligator ...and it is the friendliness and encouragement of Kris and her staff as they coach me during the classes. Finally, it's also the great music that helps me exercise. All of these things that convinced me to join the senior exercise classes at Xtreme Fitness in Kasson. • Carol Johnson
